Cell Phone Policy
An
increasing reliance on cell phones is a reality today, however,
the use of cell phones can be disruptive in public places. The
Redwood Falls Public Library policy regarding the use of cell phones
attempts to promote a user-friendly environment conducive to reading,
study, research, consultation, and quiet collaboration. All
Library Users are expected to be courteous and respectful of others by
adhering to the following policies:
1.
Turn off your cell phone or change the ring tone to a non-sound
setting, such as vibrate mode before entering the Redwood Falls Public
Library. 2. Take short incoming calls and/or make short outgoing calls in the Library’s lobby. 3.
Take incoming calls and/or make outgoing calls outside the
Library’s entrance if the call extends beyond 2 or 3 minutes. 4.
Put your caller on hold while you move away from other Library
users to the lobby or outside the Library’s entrance. 5. Take all personal items with you when you move to make or receive a phone call. 6. Lower your voice while engaging in a short conversation on your cell phone in the lobby.
Library users, who refuse to comply with the provisions or intent of this policy, will be required to leave the Library.
